Educating future generations is a challenge, to say the very least.  The act of transferring abstract concepts from one mind to another, all while attending to the myriad of individual needs present within a room full of children is astoundingly difficult.  But these learning experiences, accompanied by the innumerable joys and victories encountered along the way, make teaching one of the most rewarding fields possible.  I am an individual who has both met the challenges and reaped the rewards of educating children.

In addition to being certified and educated, I am a life-long learner.  I am constantly adding to my battery of knowledge through trainings, webinars, and whatever venues are available to me. This battery currently contains a conversational level of the Spanish language, a beginner’s mastery of both Mandarin Chinese and Hindi, advanced computer and technology skills (as sampled in my professional website, www.retinna.net, and a personal website at www.retinna.com), a high capacity for visual-spatial composition, and a natural love for the manipulation of words.

There is nothing quite like seeing the light go on as a student actualizes a concept you've been presenting to them.  Because of this, I find it very easy to spend long hours after work devoted to fine-tuning the craft of teaching.  It is an always positive experience that I hope to enjoy for many years to come.
